Since 2021, he has served as Artistic Director of the Kammerphilharmonie Lübeck, where he has established new concert formats, developed interdisciplinary projects, and initiated long-term collaborations with educational and cultural institutions.
As a guest conductor, he has worked with orchestras such as the Stuttgart Philharmonic, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lübeck, and the Filarmónica del Café in Colombia. His approach combines high musical standards with social engagement and intercultural exchange.
As an award-winning clarinetist, Emanuel Dantscher performs internationally – including appearances at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Warsaw Autumn Festival, and with the ensemble Tempus Konnex.
He studied orchestral conducting (M.M.) with Prof. Sebastian Tewinkel at the University of Music in Trossingen, and clarinet (B.M. / M.M.) with Prof. Sabine Meyer and Prof. Reiner Wehle at the University of Music in Lübeck.
Kammerphilharmonie Lübeck
Since 2021, Emanuel Dantscher has served as Artistic Director of the Kammerphilharmonie Lübeck – a young orchestra with a distinct artistic identity and growing presence in northern Germany. Under his leadership, the ensemble has expanded its repertoire, developed new outreach formats, and built lasting partnerships with schools, foundations, and cultural institutions.
A particularly impactful project was a choreographed performance of Beethoven’s Eroica featuring more than 100 young dancers from diverse social backgrounds – an example of how musical quality, social participation, and artistic openness can be meaningfully combined.
International Collaboration
In Colombia, he works regularly with the Filarmónica del Café – an orchestra project dedicated to supporting young musicians. His work there merges artistic excellence with intercultural exchange and educational responsibility.
Youth and Amateur Orchestras
Emanuel Dantscher has long been committed to working with youth and amateur orchestras. He led the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Lübeck for several years, collaborated as conductor and assistant with the State Youth Orchestra of North Rhine-Westphalia (LJO NRW), and has served as Artistic Director of Hamburg’s Orchester91 since 2023 – an ambitious amateur orchestra that regularly performs at the Laeiszhalle.
Ensemble Development & Innovation
A central focus of his work lies in the development of sustainable ensemble structures, cross-genre programming, and concert formats that engage with socially relevant themes. For a joint project with the Ensemble Konsonanz, he was awarded the “Concert of the Future” prize by the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg.
